Archive: 10th December 2005: Rebelstar Tactical Command / Eurogamer

“With a tiny bit more polish Rebelstar Tactical Command could be not only one of the best games on the GBA but one of the best games released this year. Sadly however, its flaws keep it below the polished best of Nintendo, but for anyone with fond memories of X-Com, who can’t get enough turn based strategy on the GBA, or if you just plain can’t stand aliens, it’s unmissable.”

Does anyone remember when I said that copies of Game Reactor are probably pretty rare outside of Denmark? Well, I was honest, because I don’t have any issues of Game Reactor from November 2005 until February 2006. And as my personal filing system isn’t great, I have pretty much no idea what went into the magazine during those months. Let me just say, however! Whatever it was, it was completely awesome.

Anyway, this is the first review I wrote for Eurogamer. I actually just wrote it and sent it to them, no one got back to me, and then suddenly I had an e-mail in my inbox from Kieron Gillen congratulating me on it being published.

Anyway, Rebelstar Tactical Command; I really liked it, just a shame it was so… Incomplete, really. If you can find it as a bargain bin title I recommend you snap it up, though.
