I am inordinately pleased with this intro; I was very tempted to spin the silly metaphor out but I’m rather glad I didn’t, as it’s good as it is (if I don’t say so myself.)

Funnily enough I actually got what you could perhaps call fanmail from someone whom I made laugh with the Paul Haggis bit in this column, so I’m a bit full of myself at the minute… As full as a horse choking on a film canister!
