Top 50 Games of 2006 / Eurogamer

It’s that time of year again! When the Eurogamer ‘massiv’ all get together and have a big argument about their favourite games of the year. Over the last week the top 50 has been uploaded on Eurogamer and I took part in the compilation.

Unlike last year, the top game on my personal list wasn’t the last game I made comment on in the official list, as thought I do love Guitar Hero it isn’t as high in my estimation as Dead Rising, which is probably my game of the year. Probably. I find it rather hard to pick favourites.

  1. It could be because I’ve been playing it recently and have forgotten about many of the great games of ’06, but Rocket Slime might be my choice for best of the year. It’s so fresh and fun.

  2. That wasn’t what I was expecting to read… don’t know what I was expecting though. I had a hard time reading anything written by most of the people except you and Kieron. I don’t want to really gripe on too much here, but seeing a game that deserves to be on the list and then giving mis-information about it got to me so I figured I would point it out to you although most people will bitch for nit-picking.

“FINALLY, Natsume has realised that Harvest Moon is for girls and has given us the option to play as one without having to purchase an alternate version ”

Uhm, well, I don’t know which one was the first, but I know that two of the three HM games for the Game Boy had a choice between boy and girl. On top of that Natsume is only the localizer for the game, Marvelous is the developer.

Sorry, there’s only two comments on the game and one is obviously by someone who has only experienced a small slice of the HM series. On top of that I have know 4 people in my time who are huge HM fans, three of them are male and one is female. Most females who are introduced to the game find it exceptionally overwhelming.

Also, you said you killed a zombie with a “pot plant” which I found great!
