With over 300 films each year there's also pretty much something to suit everyone. The only downside is that tickets are a bit pricier than your average movie ticket, but when it's something you might never see on the big screen it isn't that bad a trade off. It is pretty much out of my budget, but much more likely. Anyways, I think that's part of why it gets a bit less coverage. At least there is a theatre here (now that I am in St. Louis) that shows foreign films from time to time, as well as independent/limited release stuff. It's pretty awesome that you got to go to the TIFF. Man, the TIFF is a fairly large event, and it is entirely possible to go to for someone like myself (unlike Cannes).
